Frequently Asked Questions

What is Education Elevation?

Education Elevation is a national Community of Practice focused on supporting the mental health and wellbeing of people working in early childhood, primary, secondary, and tertiary education sectors.

The fully funded initiative aims to create a belief that it’s ok not to feel ok; and it’s absolutely ok to ask for help. Participants will be encouraged to develop the courage, confidence, and skills to seek help for themselves and to guide colleagues towards available help and support resources when necessary.

To progress this initiative, Allianz has partnered with I Am Here, a global leader in mental health and wellbeing. Together, they have developed a customised solution to empower and support the Community of Practice.

I Am Here… three simple words that can make a profound difference. This phrase isn’t just a company name; it represents the action we inspire people to take. We are creating a global community united by a shared commitment to meaningful societal change—one compassionate conversation at a time.

Our mission stems from a simple yet impactful insight: When someone isn’t themselves, their colleagues are often the first to notice. In those moments, saying “I Am Here” can open the door to understanding, support, and connection. I Am Here is built on a simple belief: It’s ok not to feel ok, and it’s absolutely ok to ask for help. By becoming an I Am Here Tribe member, you will join over 850,000 people globally, supporting and encouraging help-seeking and help-offering behaviour.

  • A Team Member works within the I Am Here community.
  • A Tribe Member is a person who has completed the I Am Here: Tribe Members course and then becomes an advocate for I Am Here.
  • An Ambassador is a Tribe Member who has completed the I Am Here: Ambassadors course to develop the courage, confidence, and CLEAR skills to act as a signpost to connect people with the help and support they may need.

Your role as a Tribe Member is to have the courage, confidence, and skills to Show that you care.

  1. Recognise that someone might not be feeling ok.
  2. Perform a Self- check.
  3. Overcome any barriers.
  4. Reach out and build a contract of trust.

Your role as an Ambassador is simple yet impactful: Show you care, Ask the question, and Call for help.

As an Ambassador, you embody courage, confidence, and the CLEAR skills (Compassion, Listening, Empathy, Acceptance and being Real) needed to guide others toward the support they may need. Your role is to act as a signpost, connecting individuals with the available resources and help.

Anyone can become an Ambassador—you don’t need to be a counsellor, psychologist, or have medical training. All it takes is a willingness to make a difference and support those around you.

To become a Tribe Member, you must complete the I Am Here: Tribe Members course, available online or by attending a facilitated workshop. Once you’ve completed the course, you’ll be officially certified as a Tribe Member.

To become an Ambassador, you must first be a certified Tribe Member. Next, you’ll complete the I Am Here: Ambassadors course, where you’ll develop the courage, confidence, and CLEAR skills to serve as a signpost, guiding others toward the help and support they may need. Upon completing the course, you’ll be recognised as a certified Ambassador.

Before Choosing to Act as an Ambassador: At the start of each day, take a moment for a quick self-check to ensure you are ready with the courage, confidence, and CLEAR skills to fulfil your role effectively.

Use these key questions during your self-check:

  • How am I feeling today?
  • Am I able to keep an eye on myself?
  • Do I need any help or support?

If you ever need a refresher on the self-check process or other tools, the I Am Here: Ambassadors course is always available to guide and support you. You can also speak to our Super Ambassadors if you have questions about your role or need support.  Our Super Ambassadors can be contacted at barry@iamheretribe.com or grace@iamheretribe.com.

Showing you care is building a contract of trust that proves you completely accept your fellow team members and offer your total support. There are many ways to Show you Care, depending on what feels right for you, your fellow Team Member and the situation. The I Am Here: Ambassadors course explores the appropriate ways to reach out and Show you Care through different scenarios.

Asking the Question tests your assumption that the Team Member is not feeling well rather than working off a hunch. The clues gained through Show You Care will guide you in questioning so you can delve deeper and gain authentic answers. Be as direct and specific as possible without labelling the Team Member’s situation.

A call for help is when you refer a team member for the help or support, they may need. Once you have made the recommendation, it is entirely their choice to accept the help or support offered.

Ambassadors embody the CLEAR skills, which are:

  • Compassion – A genuine desire to relieve the suffering of a fellow team member by showing care, kindness, and a willingness to be there for them.
  • Listening—Active listening is at the heart of I Am Here. It involves fully engaging with the person and listening with all your senses to understand the entire message being conveyed.
  • Empathy is the ability to imagine oneself in another person’s shoes, see the situation from their perspective, and understand their feelings.
  • Acceptance—Total acceptance means setting aside one’s opinions, values, and biases. When team members feel genuinely accepted, they are more likely to trust you and seek help.
  • Real—An Ambassador is authentic to themselves, allowing the team members to feel comfortable being their true selves.

By embodying these qualities, Ambassadors help create an environment of trust and support in which Team Members can thrive.

  • No Sharing: Don’t talk about anyone’s situation with anyone else, including Tribe Members or Ambassadors, even without using their name.
  • Protect Their Identity: Honor the trust placed in you by safeguarding the person’s story and identity.
  • No Personal Information-Sharing: Don’t share, discuss, post, or repost anyone’s personal information, including contact details or identifiable information.
